As we continue to navigate the coronavirus pandemic, many health services are actually less busy than usual.
Patients might be choosing to stay away for fear of catching coronavirus.
When visiting our Eye Florida, you can rest assured that we have taken all of the precautionary steps to protect your health and safety. Our teams are closely following the guidance of the CDC, AOA and other national health organizations. In alignment with CDC recommendations we have special protocols.
If you’re concerned about seeking care rest assured. It’s safe to resume care.
If you’re someone with a chronic health condition, it’s essential you continue to seek medical care routinely, and especially in an emergency.
Delaying or avoiding necessary medical care could lead to preventable deaths.
To minimise risks to staff and patients, many health services are offering telehealth appointments (via phone or video conference). It’s best to contact your specialist by phone prior to your appointment to see whether this service is available and appropriate.
Some practical tips

And most importantly: don’t ignore a medical emergency.
June is Cataract Awareness Month. Eye Florida wants all of our patients to know the importance of getting checked for cataracts in the early stages. While blurry vision is an excellent reason to visit us in any situation, it can also be a sign that cataracts may be forming. Some other symptoms to “keep an eye out” for include trouble seeing things well at night, seeing “halos” around lights, and continually seeming to need brighter light when reading. As the cataract spreads, the degradation in your vision will become easier to spot. As soon as you notice your vision changing, it’s a good idea to call our office and make an appointment for a checkup.
